Festive Season For Dao Ethnic

Every year on the Snake Lunar Month the Yao Festival is held to pray for rain, and the start of a new year with good weather, good crops, and a bountiful harvest. This festival is a signature of the Dao people. During the festival an elaborate ceremony is held involving the burning of incence and the offering of money (gold and silver) and food to an altar. Readings by Oracles also occurr invoking Heaven and Earth for good weather and to wish everyone peace and a prosperous life.
